The Deseret News released the 2025 All-State honors for girls’ soccer, and the Carbon Lady Dinos added six names to that list. Malia Smith, Emma Bowman, Naomi Smith, Bailey Johnson, Blythe Bradford, and Lydia Lancaster received nods for their skills on the pitch. The Deseret News all-state teams are based on the coaches’ votes from a list of nominated players from each team.
Carbon finished the season on October 23 with a loss in the semifinals to the Manti Templars, ending 18-3 overall and going undefeated in Region 13 play while holding the No. 2 spot in the rankings all season.
Malia Smith earned her second All-State Honor this year, coming off a stellar freshman season. She followed that up with her sophomore campaign, posting a 49-goal performance in 2025 and adding 14 assists, bringing her total to 112 points and landing her in second place in both goals scored and total points. Senior Emma Bowman also earned a first-team nod for her work as a defensive specialist for the Lady Dinos. This is Bowman’s third honor and marks back-to-back first team nods.
Naomi Smith earned a second-team nod for her efforts in her freshman season. Naomi Smith collected 17 goals and landed in second place in the state with 23 assists, landing just outside of the top ten in points with 57. Senior Bailey Johnson made the second team with 11 goals and 21 assists to put her in the No. 4 spot in assists statewide. Johnson earned second-team honors last season as well.
Juniors Blythe Bradford and Lydia Lancaster both earned an Honorable Mention this season. Bradford collected 14 goals to go along with 12 assists, and Lancaster had a pair of goals and a trio of assists on the defensive side of the ball.
A pair of players from the State Champion Ogden Tigers collected top honors, with junior Elle Weston claiming the 3A Player of the Year, and senior Megan Beus collecting hardware for 3A Playoff MVP.
Congratulations to all Lady Dinos who collected All-State Honors for the 2025 season.
