Following a lengthy construction process that included a mid-project switch in contractors, Price City has announced that Woodhill Road has officially reopened to public access.
“Price City is pleased to announce that Woodhill Road is now officially open to the public. All construction activities, safety inspections, and final improvements have been completed, and the roadway is cleared for full use,” reads a social media post from the city. ”Residents and motorists may now resume normal travel through the area. We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation throughout the duration of this project.”
The project involved building a drainage system alongside the water tank access road. This system was built for the purpose of reducing potential flooding during heavy rainstorms.
Originally expected to be completed in October, Price City had to switch contractors midway through the project from B. Hansen Construction to Perco Rock. The termination of the original contract with B. Hansen Construction and the city was due to “trouble with the right equipment and right processes,” said Public Works Director Miles Nelson in a Sept. 10 meeting of the Price City Council.
Nelson also described the ability to immediately switch to Perco Rock for the project as “the biggest miracle.”
In total, Perco’s bid came to $44,469.
Residents may now freely utilize the road. “We appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation throughout the duration of this project,” concluded the city.”
