The Lady Dino wrestling team traveled to Spanish Fork over the weekend to take part in the Shy Hawk Showdown at American Leadership Academy. This was just the second match they have been part of this season, and they came away with a ninth-place finish out of 16 teams. They also claimed a pair of individual second-place finishes.
Wasatch earned the top prize in team scoring, followed by Salem Hills in second. Central GJ, Grantsville, and Copper Hills rounded out the top five, with Carbon finishing in ninth.
Kallie Lefler finshed in second place at 105 pounds, making it all the way to the Championship Round undefeated, but then fell to Tyler Rodriguez of Wasatch by pin.
At 170 pounds, Rickelle Collins fought her way through to the Championship Round but lost to Shylee Tuzon of Central GJ by Technical Fall.
The Lady Dinos will be on the road traveling with the boys’ team on Tuesday to face the Juab Wasps.
