David James Vigil, was born in Dragerton, Utah on June 21, 1965. He passed away December 14, 2025. He was the best dad, grandpa, brother, uncle-tio and friend, always looking out for everyone. He was a hard-working bricklayer for Rex Carter Masonry, where he spent many years.

He enjoyed many things—if it involved being outdoors, he was there. Fishing, hunting, looking for rocks, catching lizards, working in his garden—the list goes on. He told the best stories and the best jokes. His laugh was one of a kind, just like him.

He loved his grandkids and could talk about them all day. Rain, snow, or shine, you could catch him fishing. Whether alone or with company, he would spend hours out there.

Amazing is an understatement for what he was and what he did. He did the most beautiful rock art and gave a special piece to everyone he knew. He was loyal to his Folgers coffee, French vanilla creamer, and Head & Shoulders shampoo. Something he would say about this was, “Well cat my dog.”

He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Mendez (Anthony Mendez); two grandkids, Dennzel and Hazel Mendez; and nine siblings: Ellie Ortez; Mary Jane Wallace (David, deceased); William and Jeanna Vigil; Robert and Annette Vigil; Vivian and Richard Garcia; Becky and Stan Coulter; Tom Vigil (Lori); Adeline Wilson (Gene, deceased); and Alice and Mike Hill, along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Dulce Vigil; his sister, Margret Garcia (Robert, deceased); and his brother, Daniel Vigil (Toni, deceased).

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life in East Carbon/Sunnyside. For details regarding the date, time, and location, please contact his daughter or siblings. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of David online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
