
Emery wrestling was on the road in Farmington to take on over 50 teams at the Christmas Clash. Battling teams from around the region, Emery finshed the two-day event in 13th place.
Westlake earned the top finish on the boys’ side, followed by Timpanogos in second. Syracuse, Spanish Fork, and South Summit made up the rest of the top five.
The Clash is a tournament for both varsity and junior varsity squads. On the JV side, for the Spartans, Ryan Collard finished the weekend in first place in the 144-pound class with a record of 6-1, defeating Morgan’s Krew Venz in the Championship round.
On the varsity side, Damon Farley went 6-2 overall at 157 pounds, finishing in fifth place. Dixon Peacock at 126 pounds finished at 4-2, coming in fourth. Jasper Allen at 150 pounds was 3-2, and Corbin Brady at 106 pounds, Ty Christiansen (120), Dayton Farley (144), and Hazen Meccariello (190) all finished with a 2-2 mark.
The Spartans will be off until after the first of the year, when they will travel to Richfield for the Utah Winter Classic.
