Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Eldridge Lee, died peacefully at home on December 29, 2025 after a long health battle.
He was born July 11, 1943 to Eldridge Earl and Stella Mae in Berryville, Arkansas. He lived in Arkansas until he was twelve years old and later moved to Utah with his family to work in the lumber industry. He eventually found his passion for cars and started working as a mechanic; a career he enjoyed for over 27 years.
He worked and raised his family in Heber City, Utah. He had three children: Lori, Roger, and Shaunna before he met Rosemary, and together they had Stephine.
A devoted mechanic by trade and by heart, “Alf” spent a lifetime with grease on his hands and pride in his work. He had a rare gift for understanding machines—especially ’56 Ford Pickups—and could fix just about anything with an engine. To him, cars and trucks weren’t just transportation; they were stories, projects, and trusted companions that reflected his patience, skill, and dedication. He especially loved entering his cars in local car shows, proudly displaying the vehicles he worked so hard to perfect. Sharing his passion with others and seeing their appreciation for his craftsmanship brought him genuine joy.
As much as he loved his vehicles, nothing compared to the love he had for his wife, Rosemary. Their marriage was built on loyalty, laughter, and always finding the next vehicle to buy, adventure to go on, or penny machine to play. She was his greatest joy, his best friend, his gambling partner, and the steady presence that grounded him through every chapter of life since November 28,1969.
His legacy lives on in the engines he restored, the lessons he passed down, and the love he gave.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Lee; his lap dog, Zeke; children, Stephine (Layne) Matkin, Lori Reese (Sam), Roger (Pam) Lee, and Shaunna Ford; grandchildren, Devan (Bekkee), Jaide, Tonia (Ryan), Brycen (Megan), Amber (Matthew), Kaiti (Riley), Kayley (Johnathan), Britton (Holly), Brynne (Taylor), Ryan (Makiya), Robby (Missy); siblings, Joyce Swena, Pat Broadhead, and Earlene Bragg; his twenty great-grandchildren who loved him, along with many nieces, nephews and great friends.
Eldridge is preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Stella Lee; in-laws, Boyd and Florence Broadhead; and many siblings, a grandchild, and dear friends.
Funeral service, Friday, January 2, 2026, 11:00 a.m., at the Old Mill Second Ward (715 East 600 South) in Heber City, Utah where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in the Heber City Cemetery.
In honor of Eldridge, the family encourages remembering him each time an engine roars to life or a well-loved vehicle hits the road.
Arrangements are entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends and family are always welcome daily and may share memories of Eldridge online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
