Kelly Teresa Valerio, age 57, died peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on December 21, 2025, in Salt Lake City, UT after a brief illness.

Kelly was born on November 24, 1968 in Moab, UT to Rosalinda Hurtado and David Valerio. She was a fun and outgoing person who had an infectious smile and was ready to offer a helping hand or a listening ear to others in need. Kelly spent her early childhood in Moab, Utah, spending time with her family, especially her cousins all about the same age. Eventually she moved with her mother to Albuquerque, New Mexico where she spent time expanding her creative and holistic nature by taking ceramic classes, making jewelry, securing her GED and eventually working as an esthetician.

In her later years, she moved to Salt Lake and met the love of her life, Florentino. She enjoyed spending time caring for her granddaughter, and pets, Genius and Junior.

Survivors include her husband, Florentino Garcia; son, DeAngelo Valerio; granddaughter, Aryiah Valerio; brothers, Raymond Salazar, Cosme Salazar, and Bruce Dennison; sisters, Shirlee Sow, Karla Bell Huber; and special close cousin, Pomosena Riccardi.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass in Kelly’s honor on January 5, 2026, 10:00 a.m., at St. Pius Catholic Church in Moab, Utah. Committal service to follow where Kelly will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Moab.
