The Lady Dino wrestling team traveled to Richfield with 34 other schools to compete in the Utah Winter Classic. Earning a fifth-place team finish and nine top tens that included four top-three finishes, the Dinos turned in a successful weekend.
Salem Hills finished in the top spot, with Canyon View coming in second. Grantsville, Cedar Valley, and Carbon rounded out the top five in the field of 35 teams.
Rickelle Collins was the top finisher for the Lady Dinos, taking a second-place finish at 170. Collins compiled a 5-1 record for the weekend, with her only loss coming in the Championship round, falling to Caroline Mecham of Grantsville by a 2-0 decision. Madison Arroyo also finshed 5-1 in the 190-pound class, earning a win in her third-place match by pin over Karissah Haymore of Canyon View.
Mauricia Torres claimed a third-place finish at 105 pounds with a 5-2 record, taking the win in her final match over Anaya Drisdom of Providence Hall by pin. In the 140-pound class, Bailee Christensen collected a 4-2 mark and claimed victory in the third-place game over Lizbet Rodriguez of Canyon View by pin.
The Lady Dinos will be back on the mats on Wednesday when they travel to take on the Morgan Trojans. They will welcome the Duchesne Eagles to Price on Thursday.
