Steve George Stamatakis, 83, passed away on January 4, 2026, in Price, Utah surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 7, 1942, in Price, Utah to Pete Steve and Lois Powell Stamatakis. He married Vivien Kelley on Valentine’s Day in 1961 and together they shared nearly 65 years of marriage and raised three daughters: Kelley, Misty, and Brandy.

Steve’s first and only job for the past 70 years was raising livestock, work he genuinely loved, especially raising sheep. He was also a landowner and smart businessman who enjoyed being the boss right up until the end.

Nothing brought him more joy than being Papou to his six grandchildren – Macey (Chris), Michael (Laura), Aster, Alexis, Stevie, Rylie and great-granddaughter, Callie. He loved spending time with them and was very proud of each of them.

Steve loved his Wendover trips, fishing in Scofield, playing Greek rummy and pinochle with his family, poker with the crew in town, and having coffee with his many coffee buddies over the years. If Steve gave you a hard time, you knew he liked you!

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Pete Stamatakis; and his in-laws, Walter and Helen Kelley.

He is survived by his wife, Vivien; his daughters, Kelley (George) Harmond, Misty (Tom) Matthews, Brandy (Trent) Hanna; his grandchildren, great-granddaughter; brother, Joel Stamatakis; and brother and sister-in-law, Duane and Carol Kelley.

We would like to thank everyone who stopped in to visit Steve over the last few months. Also, thank you to the coffee crew who he spent his early mornings with. He always enjoyed his coffee time and those moments meant more to him than you knew.
