The Utah State Eastern women’s basketball team hosted another Scenic West contest, this time against the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans.

The game started with a tightly contested first quarter. After falling behind early, the Eagles rallied for a 16-15 lead after the first period. The Eagles responded in the second period by outscoring the Spartans 30-14. Eastern took a 46-29 lead into the half. Marlee Pieper led the Eagles with 12 points in the first half.

The dominance continued in the third quarter, as the Eagles extended their large lead over the Spartans. With a controlling lead in the fourth quarter, the Eagles cruised to an 88-47 win over the Spartans.

Marlee Pieper led the Eagles with 21 points and nine rebounds. Skylie Barker (15), Avery Sanders (14), and Addasyn Scrivner (10) finished the game in double digits as well.

The Eagles will next take the court on Thursday, Jan. 8, against the Snow College Badgers in Ephraim, Utah. The game is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
