The newly-ranked, No. 23 Utah State Eastern men’s basketball team welcomed the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans for a mid-week Scenic West matchup.
Riding a 13-game win streak, the Eagles continued the momentum with a dominant performance in the first half. The Eagles outscored the Spartans, 43-25, led by Ike Palmer’s 9 points. The Eagles controlled the half, outrebounding the Spartans 23-16 and forcing 12 CNCC turnovers.
While the Spartans attempted to stay in the game, the Eagles continued to control the game with their defensive play. A few garbage-time points made the game appear closer than it was. The Eagles won the game 74-61 for their 14th-straight win.
Ethen Stoddard finished the game with 14 points to lead the Eagles. Ike Palmer’s 13-point, 10-rebound night helped supplement the Eagles. Seven Bahati finished the game with 11 points to also finish in double figures.
Next, the Eagles will travel to Ephraim, Utah, to take on the No. 1 Snow College Badgers. The ranked matchup is set to tip off at 7:00 p.m.
