On Sunday, Jan. 18, a vehicle search in Green River, Utah, led to the seizure of 34 pounds of marijuana. Meanwhile, on the opposite end of the county, a series of warrant services led to the capture of drug paraphernalia and weapons from a convicted felon.

“Deputy (Egan) Smith and K-9 Deputy Dak were at it again in Green River, Utah. During a vehicle search, Dak gave a positive indication, which led to the seizure of 34 pounds of marijuana,” reads a statement from Emery County Sheriff Tyson Huntington.

He continues,” Later Sunday night, information gained by Sergeant (Dallon) Cologie led to the service of five search warrants in Huntington, Utah. Controlled substances, paraphernalia and weapons were seized as a result.”

In the weapons case, Robert Gervais, age 70, was taken into custody for investigation into charges of weapons, multiple drug and distribution charges.

“The weapons charges were due to Gervais being a convicted felon,” explained Huntington.

“ECSO deputies showed relentless efforts with both of these cases,” concludes the sheriff’s statement. “Great job guys! I see what you are doing and appreciate all of your work.”
