The Pinnacle Lady Panthers welcomed the Whitehorse Raiders to the gym on Friday. With the season winding down, Pinnacle needs to get back on track to improve its seeding in the upcoming State Championships. Whitehorse jumped out early and didn’t let up, handing the Lady Panthers their seventh loss in a row, 61-16.
Pinnacle sits at 4-11 overall and 0-3 in region play and is currently in the No.19 spot in the latest ranking from MaxPreps and the Utah High School Activities Association. The last win for the Lady Panthers was on December 18 over the Utah Military Academy – Camp Williams, and with five games remaining in the regular season, the clock is ticking.
The Raiders came out in the first quarter, lighting up the basket and holding Pinnacle to just a pair in the quarter as Whitehorse claimed a 13-2 lead. The Raiders came out firing again in the second on both ends of the court, scoring another 19 and holding the Panthers to three, heading to the locker room at halftime up 32-5.
After the break, Whitehorse slowed things down a bit but maintained its lead, as Pinnacle couldn’t keep up with the Raiders’ offensive output. The Panthers were outscored 14-6 in the third, then by 10, 15-5, in the fourth, as Whitehorse cruised to a 61-16 win.
As of the time of publication, there were no individual stats available for the Pinnacle Panthers.
