Craig Lane Houskeeper was born on August 22, 1951, in Price, Utah to Theodore (Ted) and Kathryn (Kay) Houskeeper. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 1, 2026, at the age of 74.
Craig married his high school sweetheart, Dawna Childs, on August 8, 1970 in Wellington, Utah. Their love was further solidified when they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Manti Temple on August 22, 2009.
Craig spent his formative years growing up on a ranch in Nine Mile Canyon, where he learned the value of hard work alongside his dad. He cherished his memories of Nine Mile Canyon and carried a deep appreciation for the area throughout his life. He also developed a passion for cars from a young age, which greatly influenced his career path.
Craig’s deepest devotion was to his family, which fueled his passion for exploring his ancestry and delving into family history to honor and connect with his roots. He valued kindness, resilience, and generosity that he passed down through generations. He was known for his warm smile and generous spirit, always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends.
Craig is survived by his beloved wife, Dawna Childs Houskeeper; his children, Tracey (Doug) Johnson, Corey (Kristina) Houskeeper, and Jenna (Rahn) Sheehan; nine grandchildren—Hayden (Zoie), Camrey (Jake), Allie, Carson, Annika (Izzy), Sophia (Max), Chance, Meadow, and Emmett; and four great-grandchildren—Paizley, Miele, Weston and Vergil. He is also survived by his brother, Brent (Connie) Houskeeper; sister, Linda Osmond; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug McKean, Paul (Arletta) Childs, Peggy Bradshaw, Kerstine (Rusty) Fausett, and Kirk (Leslie) Childs; as well as a wide circle of extended family and friends who loved him deeply.
Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Kay Houskeeper; in-laws, Rex and Carma Childs; brother, Skip Houskeeper; two infant sisters, sisters-in-law, Lucille Houskeeper and Carol McKean; and brother-in-law, Vern Osmond.
