Kathlean Jewkes Beckstead, 85, passed away February 9, 2026 at her home in Orangeville.

She was born July 20, 1940, in Orangeville, Utah to Bryant R. and Mary Elizabeth Price Jewkes. She married Carl Emery Beckstead in Orangeville, Utah on September 17, 1960. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 7, 1962. Carl preceded Kathlean in death on February 25, 2000.

From the beginning, Kathlean carried a quiet strength and a nurturing spirit that would define her life and her service to others.

She devoted much of her life to caring for those around her. As a midwife, she welcomed countless new lives into the world, offering compassion, reassurance, and steady hands. She found deep joy in gardening, tending her plants with patience and love. Kathlean and her husband served a mission at Cove Fort, Utah and in the Manti Temple. They took great pride in what they did, and they loved every minute serving.

She is survived by her seven children, Carl (Michelle) Beckstead, Orangeville, Utah, Becky (Robert) Moore, Orangeville, Utah, Phillip (LaNet) Beckstead, Evanston, Wyoming, Shane (Kerrie) Beckstead, Price, Utah, Cody (Shannon) Beckstead, Orangeville, Utah, Timothy (Kimberly) Beckstead, Woodruff, Idaho, and Paul (Bobbie) Beckstead, Ogden, Utah; brother, Jim (Pam) Jewkes, Castle Dale, Utah; 35 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Beckstead; daughter-in-law, Holly Beckstead; granddaughter, Karlie Blair Beckstead; four brothers, Don (Lola) Jewkes, Terry (Vivian) Jewkes, Robert (Rena) Jewkes, infant brother, Benjamen; two sisters, MaryLou (David) Gordon and Leah Jewkes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made the missionary department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Funeral service, Saturday, February 14, 2026, 11:00 a.m., Orangeville 2nd Ward Chapel (45 West 100 South, Orangeville, Utah 84537) where the family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment, Orangeville City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Kathlean online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
