The Pinnacle Lady Panthers closed out the regular season on the road in Monticello to take on the Buckaroo on Friday evening.  Monticello jumped on Pinnacle in the first quarter and never looked back as the Buckaroo cruised to a 53-15 win. On Monday, the bracket for the 1A State championships was released, and the Lady Panthers know where they will be headed for the opening round.

Pinnacle closed out the regular season with a 5-15 overall record and a 1-7 mark in region play. In the final rankings released on Monday, they closed the season ranked No. 19, which means they will be on the road to face Altamont.

Monticello came out quickly in the opening quarter, as they held the Lady Panthers to 0 points and put up 19 to take a sizeable lead into the second. Pinnacle would come out in quarter number two and match the Buckaroo point for point, but was unable to dig into the lead. Monticello held the lead at the half, 25-6.

Monticello would take charge once again after the break, turning the offense back on. On defense, they held Pinnacle to four points, adding 16 points to increase the lead to 41-10 heading into the final eight minutes. With the contest in hand, Monticello increased their lead and closed out the Panthers 53-15.

Pinnacle will now go on the road on Wednesday to face the Altamont Longhorns. These two teams met up earlier in the season, with Altamont taking the win. If the Lady Panthers win there, they will face Tabiona in the second round on Saturday.
