Price City News Release
As we move through the shortest month of the year, we continue to work toward making Price City a good place to live. This goal remains a team effort that includes all of our city council and Price City employees.
The council filled the vacant Council position with Russell Seeley after a tough night interviewing five exceptional candidates. Council assignments are now viewable on the Price City webpage.
We have continued to move forward with improving pedestrian safety and making our community a more walkable place to raise our children. A traffic study focused on the area close to the high school and college has been conducted and we are awaiting results. Our Price City Police Department conducted the first of many targeted crackdowns on crosswalk safety issues. They also put out an educational article to help remind us of the rules surrounding pedestrian safety at crosswalks.
We secured a forgivable loan (grant) to pre-purchase the pipe needed for the water line replacement project. This is a great advantage to Price City as the cost of the pipe needed is at an all-time low price. This will result in significant cost saving to the pipe line replacement project for the community.
Our Public Works Department has implemented a new tracking software program called “Maintain X” which is streamlining our workorder system to ensure we are dealing with all the city-wide issues that need to be addressed. The goal is for faster response time for replying to citizens who call in road and other problems they identify.
The city is moving ahead in planning for Renaissance Fair, St, Patricks’ Day Parade, Culture Connection and International Days events. Two new items this year will include the America 250 Gala and the Rock and Coal music festival.
