The Carbon Dino boys’ soccer squad will get things rolling on March 2 against Salem Hills to kick off the spring sports season. Baseball, boys volleyball and tennis, softball, girls golf, and track and field will follow, as the sports and school year head into their final months.

The soccer squad will start on Monday, March 2, at home, welcoming Salem Hills. Last season, the Dinos finished 12-4 overall with an 11-3 mark in region play and suffered a loss in the quaterfinals to eventual runner up Morgan. They will face the Spartans twice on March 18 in Price and then on April 10 in Castle Dale. The initial rankings will be released on April 4, and the opening round of the state playoffs will begin on April 24, with the State Championship settled on May 9.

The Dino baseball team will get things started on March 5 with a pair of contests at home, beginning with Virgin Valley at 9:00 a.m. and Duchesne at 5:00 p.m. The Dinos finished last season 10-15 overall, 8-6 in region play, and ended their season with double-header losses to North Sanpete in the Super Regionals. They will jump into region play on March 24 when they will welcome the Manti Templars. On April 28, they welcome the Spartans to Price and will close out the regular season on May 1 in Castle Dale. Super Regionals will start on May 7, with the State Championships taking place at Kearns High School May 14-16.

Lady Dinos golf will start on May 5, when they travel to Richfield and the Cove View Golf Course. Last season came to an end on the Lakeside Golf Course, with all Carbon players making the first-day cut at the State Championships, and guided the team to a 10th-place finish. The Dinos will get their home match early, as the region will play at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course on March 11. The following week, they shift to Millsite in Ferron, the home of the Emery Lady Spartans. The Region 13 Championships are slated for April 17 at Stansbury Park, which will host the 3A State Championships on May 6 & 7.

Carbon’s boys volleyball team welcomes Dugway to Price on March 6, and four days later, on the 10th, they will entertain Salt Lake Academy before heading off to the North Sanpete tournament. The Dinos finished last season 15-12 overall, going 7-5 in region play. Last season ended with a loss to American Heritage in the quarterfinal loss bracket. On May 2, the first round of the State Championships will begin, with the finals taking place at Utah Valley University on May 8 & 9.

On May 7, the Dino track and field team will travel to Moab to open the season at the Grand Invitational. Last season, the Lady Dinos captured three state titles en route to a fourth-place finish overall, while the boys placed ninth out of 15 teams at the State Championships. The Dinos will host two meets this season, March 14, when schools from around the region will take part in the Farm Bureau Invitational, and again on April 10 for the Carbon Invitational. The region championships will be held at Emery on May 6 & 7 this season, with the State Championships at BYU on May 15 & 16.

Carbon boys tennis will begin the season on the road in Manti on March 10, and will welcome Richfield to Price on the following day. Last season, all the squad members won their opening-round matches on the first day but struggled on day two. They will travel to St. George on March 20 & 21, and the region championships take place on May 4. The State Play in games will be May 14, and the State Championships begin the next day at Liberty Park.

Lady Dino softball will be the final team to begin play when they travel to Hurricane on March 12; the next day, they will begin play in the St. George Tournament. On March 17, they begin region play with a trip to Manti, and on March 24, they welcome the Lady Spartans to Price. One month later, on April 17, they travel to Castle Dale to take on Emery. The opening round of the state playoffs begins on May 9, with the State Championships taking place on May 14.
