The Caine School of the Arts at Utah State University Eastern is preparing for a weekend of high-quality entertainment, welcoming award-winning concert artists Ben and Sasha Kasman Laude to the Geary Event Center on March 6 and 7.
The music begins on Friday, March 6, at 7:30 p.m. as Ben Laude hosts a presentation entitled ‘Great Pianists Debate Piano Playing’. This presentation will feature a video sharing scenes he’s filmed with other pianists expressing opposing perspectives on topics ranging from technical fundamentals to the highest levels of musical interpretation.
Day two of the event will see Ben Laude, alongside his wife, Sasha Kasman Laude, host a master class where local piano players can receive coaching from the world-class duo, beginning at 3 p.m.
The festivities will conclude at 7:30 p.m. as the duo presents a recital featuring solo pieces by Frederic Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Nikolai Medtner, preceded by a 4-hand sonata by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Admission to all of the events is free and open to the public. For questions, email larry.martin@usu.edu.
