The Lady Spartan golf team, along with the other teams in Region 13 decsended on the Carbon Country Club Golf Course on Wednesday. After last week’s opening match at Cove View was cancelled, this week marked the opener, with the Lady Spartans finishing in third.
Last week’s opening match in Richfield was cancelled due to weather issues, so all the teams were ready to get rolling at the tournament hosted by Carbon.
Union claimed first place overall, shooting a 373, and Carbon finished in second at 444. Emery (457), North Sanpete (458), and Manti (471) made up the rest of the field. The Cougars’ Avery Rasmussen had the low round of the day, turning in an 86.
Brandee Larceval shot a 90 for the Lady Spartans, which put her in second place overall. Avery Laws turned in a 105, tying her for ninth overall. Lydia Larsen shot a 129 and Kodee Behling a 133 to round out the top scoring four for Emery. Rheagan Rhoten (135) and Lailey Downard (142) also took part for the Spartans.
Next week, it will be Emery’s turn, as the region lands on Millsite, the home course of the Spartans.
