Unable to find offensive rhythm, the Emery Spartans suffered a 3-0 loss to the South Summit Wildcats Thursday night in Kamas.
Looking to recover from a 1-0 loss to Grantsville on Tuesday, the Spartans were blanked for the second time in six games. The Wildcats’ outstanding defense was complemented by a solid performance from Jaren Cottis, who scored two goals.
Thursday’s setback was the final non-region game on the slate for the Spartans, who now hold a record of 2-4.
The Spartans will take the remainder of the week off and shift focus to the Region 13 opener on Wednesday, March 18, on the road against the Carbon Dinos. The tilt will be the first of two meetings this season between the two squads, with the second coming on April 10 at Emery High School.
