Lady Dino softball got their region schedule underway on Tuesday when it traveled to Manti to face the Templars. Carbon had some success early, entering the contest with a mark of 4-2, but in this one, Manti came out early in the first inning and put them away, taking the win 15-4.

Last weekend in tournament play, the Lady Dinos collected wins over Snake River, Corner Canyon, Moapa Valley, and Providence Hall, and we’re looking to get into region play by taking on the Templars.

Carbon would get on the board in the first inning when Aleece Ardohain reached on a double, and Brailee Peterson came up next, sending another double to center field, driving Ardohain in to give the Dinos the early 1-0 lead. The Templars would come up in the bottom half of the inning, taking the lead by adding five runs.

The Lady Dinos would go scoreless until the top of the third, when, with two on, Sienna Alderson came to the plate with the score 7-1 and sent a home run over the left field wall, driving in Alexa Jones and Ardohain to get the Dinos within three at 7-4.

The Templars came up at the bottom half of the inning to add three more runs and then would hold the Dinos scoreless through the next two, adding five more to take a 15-4 win in five innings.

Alderson was 1-3, collecting three RBIs and one run scored. Ardohain was 2-3 with two runs scored, and Peterson was 1-2 with an RBI.

Kadence Vea got the start on the mound, giving up 15 runs, nine earned, on 12 hits, and struck out three.

The Lady Dinos get back to work on Wednesday when they travel to Moab to face the Grand Red Devils.
