
The Carbon Dino boys’ volleyball team started region play on Thursday night in front of the home crowd as they welcomed the Manti Templars. The Dinos claimed a win in the opening set, but the Templars took over, winning the next three sets and taking the match 3-1.
Carbon has made it through its pre-season schedule and has jumped into the region schedule, over the next three weeks, where they face Union, Juab, North Sanpete, and Providence Hall.
The Dinos took the first set, a battle, 25-23. The Templars came back, however, taking set two 25-20. In the third, Carbon regained its composure, but Manti was ready, taking a 27-25 victory. The Templars put a cap on the match in set four, taking the 25-15 win and the match 3-1.
Carter Warburton collected 13 digs and nine kills in the match. Grant Sherman had 10 digs and nine kills, and Kyler Orth had 11 digs to go with his seven kills. Bryken Preston collected 25 assists, and Grant Mathis had 12 digs in the loss.
Carbon will be back on the road on Tuesday, when they travel to Roosevelt to face Union.
