Brandee Larceval protected her home course as the Emery Lady Spartans played host to the second Region 13 meet of the season, welcoming four other schools to the Millsite Golf Course in Ferron on Thursday afternoon.

Larceval propelled the Lady Spartans to a second-place finish as she ended at the top of the individual leaderboard with an 89. The stellar performance comes after opening the season with a 90 at the Carbon Country Club Golf Course back on March 11.

Union claimed its second team victory in as many tries, posting a 377. Emery finished in a distant second with a 433, topping third-place Carbon by three strokes. North Sanpete finished in fourth with a 438, and Manti closed out fifth in the field.

Lydia Larsen gave Emery its second individual score at 113. Clarissa Beagley fired a 114, and Rheagan Rhoten gave the fourth score with a 117.

The battle at the top of the individual leaderboard was decided by one stroke as Larceval outdueled Union’s Avey Rasmussen, who shot a 90.

The Carbon Lady Dinos improved their overall team score from the region opener in the third-place finish.

Kaycee Richardson paced Carbon as she shot a season-best 105. Zaya Olsen and Leah Sweeney both finished with 110, while Olivia Rondinelli closed out Carbon’s scoring with a 111.

Despite the third-place finish, Carbon still holds a 10-stroke lead over Emery for second place in the Region 13 standings. While Union has created a comfortable advantage through two meets, the middle of the field is poised for heavy competition for the remainder of the season.

The Region 13 schedule will now shift to Canyon Hills Golf Course in Nephi on Tuesday, March 24. With the first two meets of the season taking place at the Carbon Country and Millsite, both Carbon and Emery will be on the road the rest of the season.

Below is the current Region 13 standings following Thursday’s meet:
