Lane Chynoweth age 83, passed away March 21, 2026, surrounded by family in Ferron, Utah.

Lane was born April 4, 1942, in Henrieville, Utah to Lawrence and Lavina Chynoweth. He was the youngest of seven children.

On November 4, 1961, Lane married Marlene Baugh in Tropic, Utah.

After graduating from Bryce Valley High School, Lane started his career in construction, building highway roads and dam projects covering the state of Utah.  After 27 years working for Operating Engineers Union Local 3, an unfortunate work-related accident forced him into early retirement.

Lane and Marlene were blessed with four children, Ken, Cindy, Rich, and Scott.  Lane was a hands-on father who took pride in providing and caring for his family.  Later he was blessed with the greatest gift of all: grandchildren. They were his pride and joy, and he was proud of them all. He would do anything for his family, whether it was to be their protector or a joke to brighten their day. He was very involved in his children’s and grandchildren’s activities, supporting them in any way he could.

Lane is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marlene; children, Ken (Janeen) Chynoweth, Cindy (Garrett) Hansen, Rich Chynoweth, and Scott Chynoweth; grandchildren, Courtney Hansen, Cameron Hansen, Valerie (Makay) Olsen, Lexi Chynoweth, Lance Chynoweth, Kamri Chynoweth, Natalie Chynoweth; and four bonus great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Symbii Home Health and Hospice, especially Sandy Jensen, for her caring service she provided to dad.

Graveside service, Saturday, March 28, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Ferron City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Lane online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
