2026-annual-spring-cleanup-2

As winter turns to spring, many feel the urge to declutter their homes or engage in other forms of spring cleaning.

Recognizing this, each spring Carbon County hosts an annual Spring Cleanup, an opportunity for residents to undertake home improvement projects without worrying about dumping fees.

“The annual spring cleanup means landfill fees are waived for all residents,” said Kourtney Cox of the event. “This does not apply to commercial customers, but all residential customers. If you have some yard work that needs to be done, if you want to go through your house and got a lot of stuff you want to de-junk through the winter, it’s the time to take it to the landfill and not have to pay the fees and clean up the property, clean up the home, and start fresh into the summer.”

Located at 28365 East Airport Road in Price, the Carbon County Landfill typically charges $5 per load. During the Spring Cleanup, that fee is wiped away. The reduced rate does not apply to commercial customers.

“It’s very helpful for people,” added Cox. “We have limbs in our yard that we’ve been cleaning up through the winter. That could be multiple loads we’re taking, and instead of paying a fee each time we show up, it’s free. We roll on in, dump it out, and go grab the next load.”

Carbon County’s annual Spring Cleanup will begin on Monday, April 13, and run until Saturday, April 25.
