Lady Dino golfers were on the course in Nephi on Tuesday, taking on the Canyon Hills Golf Course, home of the Juab Wasps. The Union Cougars have been on top of their game so far this season, and they were again on Tuesday, earning another first-place finish. Carbon finished in fourth.
Union shot a 354 to earn another top finish; North Sanpete finished in second with a 432. Emery (438), Carbon (456), and Manti (467) rounded out the scoring. Avery Rasmussen of Union had the low round of the match, shooting an 82.
Coming off a third-place finish last week at Millsite, where they finished just three strokes behind second-place Emery and two strokes ahead of fourth-place North Sanpete, this week Carbon’s fortunes changed as the Hawks leapfrogged them for third.
Zaya Olsen fired off a 103 to lead the Dinos. Leah Sweeney (110), Kaycee Richardson (120), and Erin Hurst (123) made up the scoring four for Carbon.
Madi Barlow (124), Sammi Leroy (131), and Jocelyn Frandesn (137) competed for the Lady Dinos as well.
Next week marks Spring Break for the Dinos, so they won’t be back on the course until April 7, when they travel to Palisades Golf Course, the home of the Manti Templars.
