Adding three cities to its already impressive scope, the Utah Wellbeing Project is expanding into Emery County as it continues to gather information on community well-being.

As such, it is continuing to seek participants in Orangeville, Castle Dale, and Ferron to provide input on the state of well-being in their respective communities, in an effort to inform elected officials with insights into citizen needs.

“Really, what it is, is it’s a survey. We partner with cities and towns to help collect survey data from residents and communities and to address all aspects of individual well-being and community well-being, and generally gather some perspectives on how things are going in their community,” explained Dr. Courtney Flint of the survey.

“We can look at the data to see trends over time and what some of the hot issues are, and communicate that to community leaders in reports that we make publicly available and serve up to the city leaders. And then we come back every couple of years and do it again so that we can track how things might be changing.”

The survey features questions asking participants to rank their individual well-being in 12 separate categories, ranging from health to connections with nature to living standards and safety and security. It also includes questions about participants’ communities, such as population growth and economic development.

“We’ve partnered with communities across the state, up and down, from very small rural communities to very big urban communities. And it really helps us to pull out what’s unique about all of our different communities in Utah,” expressed Flint, adding,” and it’s a real chance to let your voice be heard.”

The project is seeking participants aged 18 and older to complete the survey and gather feedback from all walks of life.

The Utah Wellbeing Project survey is open for residents of Castle Dale, Orangeville and Ferron until April 22. It can be accessed through the following links:
