Thursday evening, the Carbon boys volleyball squad welcomed the Union Cougars for a region tilt on senior night. The Dinos had beaten the Cougars earlier in the season and were looking to do it again, but the Cougars had other thoughts in mind as they defeated Carbon 3-1.

Carbon slid to 4-14 overall, and 3-6 in region play with the loss, and is sitting in the No. 8 spot in the latest rankings from MaxPreps.

Carbon recognized four seniors for their contributions to Dino sports on Thursday evening: Carter Warburton, Kyler Orth, Dylan Black, and Cole Hinckley, all of whom will graduate in May.

The Cougars jumped out in the first set, taking a 25-19 win. The Dinos came storming back, in set number two to take a 25-22 win, evening up the match. The Cougars came out in set number three to take a 25-21 win, and then would turn around and close out the Dinos in the fourth set.

Warburton collected 16 kills and 11 digs for the Dinos. Orth had 18 digs and 12 kills, Bryken Preston added 16 assists, Grant Mathis collected 14 assists, and Black had five digs and two service aces in the loss.

The Dinos are back on the court and on the road on Friday when they face Wasatch Academy.
