The newest player in the automotive repair industry arrives in the Castle Country as Check’s Auto Repair opens its bays to residents of the area and beyond.

Tanner Richardson from Check’s joined the KOAL newsroom to discuss the new business venture and what sets them apart from the competition.

Speaking on the process to open Check’s, Richardson shared,” It’s been a lot of work. I’ve really been working hard at it for the last month or two. But it was just a lot of work getting all the equipment needed. Still, every day the techs are yelling at me, ‘we need this, we need this,’ and it’s just been an adventure.”

The scramble to buy equipment has paid off, as Richardson explained that Check’s has been able to acquire top-of-the-line tools for the shop. “I just got my brand-new Hunter alignment machine put in, and it is the top-of-the-line machine. We invested a lot of money into it, but with that, we can offer free alignment checks. We’ll always offer that. We can pull it and get an alignment check for you really fast.”

Free alignment checks are just one way Check’s Auto Repair wants to give back to its customers. For Richardson, he says that the customers are at the forefront of everything the shop aims to do: “We focus on being honest, affordable, and being customer first. We treat people how we want to be treated … It’s been great We’ve had a lot of new people come in that I’ve honestly never met before. I’ve been in the industry for a little over eight years now. I have some of my regular customers, but it’s been great. The community has really supported us.”

For Richardson personally, the venture marks a leap of faith. He explained,” I was in the dealership world for about eight steady years, and it treated me well. But, you know, I was ready for a change in my life, and it’s just been a big adventure.”

He continued, sharing his vision for the future of Check’s, “I want to see it just grow. I’ve got a good crew of guys, younger, but a couple of them have been in the industry for quite a while. And I want to take on as many people as we can as employees. We want to grow so that we’re so busy that we can just hire whoever needs a job. We want to give them a job opportunity. That’s our dream.”

Richardson shared how those in need of auto assistance can contact Check’s,” Just give me a call, 435-630-6699, that’s our direct line. We’re working on a website. You can go to checksautorepair.com. There is a little snippet that you can put your information in and it emails me, and I’m usually pretty quick at responding.”

Closing our conversation, Richardson plugged an ongoing oil-change sale at the shop,” We are still running our $49.95 oil change special for six quarts. That’s for gas engines 0-20, 5-30 and 5-20. There are some exclusions, but for the most part, $49.95 Also for those diesel owners. We are doing a $69.95 special for up to 12 quarts of 1540. So we’re making oil changes affordable again.”
