On Thursday, the Dino swim team traveled to face the Delta Rabbits and the host Richfield Wildcats. Carbon had plenty to be excited about however it was the Wildcats that were the fastest in the pool taking first in both divisions.

Unofficially, Richfield earned the top spot on the girls’ side with a score of 400, Carbon followed in second with 273, and Delta took third with 54. Again, these are unofficial final scores.

The Lady Dinos earned a first-place finish in the 400-free relay with a time of 4:29.14 behind the team of Evie Halk, Rachel Blackburn, Maya Bower, and Kanyon Christensen. In the 200 free relay Lily Thayn, Aylen Lyman, Blackburn, and Bower finished in second. Halk, Lyman, Thayn, and Christensen earned a second-place finish in the 200 free medley.

Three Lady Dinos earned first-place finishes in individual events Christensen earned hers in the 50 free with her time of 29.18, she also grabbed a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke. Bower took first in the 100-yard breaststroke with her time of 1:25.96 and earned third in the 200 individual medley, and Thayn earned first in the 500 free turning in a time of 6:30.62, she also finished second in the 200 IM.

Blackburn finished second in the 500 free, Halk took second in the 50 free, and fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke. Lyman went third in the 50 free and fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke, and Avy Atwood took third in the backstroke and fourth in the 100 free.

Miley Hansen took fourth in the 100 free, while Erika Whitmore took fourth in the in the 200 free, and Baelie Erickson took fifth in the 100 free.

Richfield also earned the top finish in the boy’s side with an unofficial total of 444 points, Carbon finished second with 268, and Delta third with 139. Again, these are unofficial final scores.

Senior Mason Engar had a day for the Dinos with a pair of first-place finishes in the 500 free with his time of 5:39.43 well ahead of Finn Spencer of Richfield and his time of 6:12.00, Engar also finished in the top spot in the 200 free with a time of 1:58.76. Bracken Hanson was able to collect a first-place finish in the 200 IM turning in a time of 2:30.27, he also earned a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke. Leland Kepsel finished the 100 free in a time of 1:00.00 to claim first and then would collect a second-place finish in the 50 free.

Spencer Hawley finished in second place in the 100 fly, while Traxton Jewkes claimed a pair of third-place finishes in the 50 free and 100 free. Carlos Mendoza added a pair of fifth-place finishes in both the 50 free and 100 free. Vincent Rondinelli swam to a fifth-place finish in the 200 free as did Jared Bryson in the 500 free.

The boys also had two top finishes in a pair of relays. The team of Engar, Mendoza, Bryson, and Jewkes took second in the 200 free, and Engar, Bryson, Kepsel, and Hansen took fourth in the 400 free.

Carbon will travel to Castle Dale on Tuesday to face Grand and the Emery Spartans.
