Jennifer Lyn Slavensky, 49, passed away at home on November 22, 2024 after a valiant and courageous journey with cancer.

Jennifer was born on November 21, 1975 in Price, Utah to Rex and Mary Philips Alger.

She graduated from Carbon High School in 1994 and eventually went to work for Uncle Charlie at Single Stop in Wellington. She then began working in Price City for the United States Postal Service. She remained there for 29 years as a mail carrier over the city lights of Price and Miller Creek.

Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2023 and continued working through her cancer treatments, but had to go on leave September 5, 2024 to prepare for surgery.

In 1998, Jennifer met Dennis Slavensky and they married on September 26, 1998. They went on to have two children, McKenzy (25) and Kaden (22).

Jen loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping, off-roading, and more importantly, spending time with family on the Two Buck Flats Property in Beaver Creek, Utah.

Jen is survived by her husband, Dennis; children, McKenzy Slavensky (Matt Kale), Kaden Slavensky; parents, Rex and Mary Alger; sister, Michell (Justin) Saccomano; and mother-in-law, Delores Slavensky.

Preceded in death by her grandparents, father-in-law, aunts and uncles.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Imaging staff at Castleview Hospital, Active Re-Entry, Revere Health Imaging Oncology, Infusion Oncology at Utah Valley Hospital, and Hollie Stapley, PA.

A celebration of Jen’s life will be Wednesday, November 27, 2024, 3:00 p.m., at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are welcome to share memories of Jen online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
