
The Pinnacle boy’s basketball squad headed into their game with American Leadership Academy on Tuesday night in Price holding a 2-1 record. The Eagles jumped out in the first quarter outscoring the Panthers by 20 and turned on the defense to earn the 97-41 win.
American Leadership took control from the tip-off, seemingly scoring at will and holding the Panthers to 13 points in the first quarter, taking a 33-13 lead. In the second, it was more of the same, with the Eagles pushing through the quarter and continuing their defensive play, holding Pinnacle to just seven and creating a lead that would be hard to come back from, at 57-20, heading to the locker room at halftime.
American Leadership came out to put the Panthers away in the second half. The Eagles continued their offensive explosion to add 28 more and put the clamps on allowing Pinnacle five points in the quarter to 85-25. The Panthers wouldn’t quit however, coming out in the fourth quarter outscoring the Eagles 16-12 but with the damage already done lost the home contest 97-41 to fall to 2-2 this season.
The Eagles’ Malachi Mark led all scorers with 22 in the game.
Riley Davis had 12 for Pinnacle. Brody Howell added nine and Diego Contreras scored nine in the loss.
Pinnacle heads back out on the road to face Water Canyon on December 6 and then will follow that up the next day at Escalante
