Christmas in the Castle Country Area is a magical time. A major part of that magic is the work put in by the different cities to decorate and provide holiday events for their citizens. In Price City, that’s happening in a big way. To talk about the holiday spirit and the different planned events, city council member Layne Miller joined Castle Country Radio for an in-depth discussion on what’s coming up for Christmastime.

The first major event Miller spoke of is ‘Christmas à la Vivaldi’, which is coming to the Price Civic Auditorium on Saturday, Dec. 7, starting at 7 p.m. “ I’m thinking that ‘à la Vivaldi’ could become a Christmas tradition. I’m thrilled to have it.” Explained Miller,” It’s a real professional event. Ted Hinckley has done a fabulous job with it. I’m just thrilled that it’s in price.”

Tickets for ‘Christmas à la Vivaldi’ can be purchased at carbon-ticket.com. Currently, you can get them at a five-dollar discount for $15, but that price will jump to $20 the day of the show.

Miller then shifted his focus to the Christmas lights around the city, namely on Price’s Main Street,” It’s exciting to walk down Main Street and see all the businesses with decorated trees and the lights and the festivity. It’s really cool.” He also spoke on the “Deck the Planter” event hosted by the city, which gives businesses outside of Main Street a chance to decorate a planter on Main Street,” How fun is that? I was coming down Main Street today, and we have a lot of planters. Main Street’s going to be a really fun place to be.”

Miller also spoke on the United Way Angel Tree, which was recently named Castle Country Radio’s Charity of the Month,” Every year, it takes care of a lot of families who might not be able to do everything they’d like to do for Christmas. And I know I’m always happier when I’m giving service. So for the person who’s giving, it’s a real treat. And for the families who receive, of course, it’s a treat, and it helps make Christmas special for them.”

Continuing on the topic of Charity, Miller spoke on the upcoming ‘Shop with a Cop’ event hosted by law enforcement agencies across the county,” It’s madhouse when they’re there. And those kids get so excited. And it does as much for the cops as it does the kids. The cops look forward to it all year long,” adding,” we’re so service-oriented in this area, All you have to do is ask the locals to give, and they’re there every time.”

In closing, Miller shared a holiday message from the Price City Council,” I wish we could have Christmas three or four times a year because there’s something so special and the feeling that everybody has, and that includes the City Council and the Mayor and everybody in the city. We hope it’s a great holiday. Think of others, but really enjoy yourself. I know this is the time to be with kids, be with families. It’s just a really, really special time of year, so we hope everybody enjoys it.”
