The Lady Panthers are off to a great start this season with a 5-3 record with almost a month of play under their belts. On Friday evening, they traveled to Altamont to face the Longhorns. Pinnacle struggled to find their offense throughout the contest falling to 5-4 after the 45-16 loss.

Pinnacle’s troubles started in the opening quarter when they were only able to score two points and then allowed Altamont to put up seven to take the five-point lead.  In the second, Altamont would get out to another good start as they would hold the Panthers to four in the quarter and doubled them up with eight pushing the lead to 15-6 at halftime.

Coming out of the locker room Pinnacle looked to get things going as they came out and put up 10 in the third but were matched almost basket for basket by Altamont who scored 11 and would increase their lead to 26-16 going into the fourth. In the final eight minutes, the wheels would fall off for the Lady Panthers who were held scoreless by the Longhorns who built the majority of their lead scoring 19 and taking a 45-26 win.

The Longhorns Hazlie Bagley would lead all scorers with 18 in the contest.

Jostyn McLean scored 11 for the Panthers and Heather Kerr added five in the loss.

The Lady Panthers will get back on the floor on Thursday when they play their first game in the Panther Winter Classic when they face the Utah Military Academy- Camp Williams Mauraders.

Game time will be at 1:30 p.m..
