On Friday, the Lady Dino basketball squad returned to the court during the Christmas Break and welcomed the Cedar Reds to Price. Carbon jumped out to a four-point lead in the first quarter but then struggled on offense in the second and third falling 62-41 at home.

The Lady Dinos are 2-10 and have lost their last five, putting them in the No. 18 spot in the RPI.

Carbon jumped out in the first quarter scoring 16 and used their defense to hold Cedar to just 12 taking a four-point lead into the second quarter, but that was when the Reds took over putting 18 on the scoreboard and turning on their defense allowing just eight points to the Lady Dinos as Cedar took a 30-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Coming out in the second half, Carbon would have trouble offensively as they were only able to put up seven on the scoreboard as Cedar added 16 to build upon their lead to take a 46-31 lead into the final eight minutes. The Lady Dinos were able to score 10 in the fourth but allowed 16 to Cedar as they would close out the contest taking the 62-41 win.

Gabby Gomez of Cedar put up 24 to lead all scorers in the contest.

Jacie Jensen, who leads the Lady Dinos averaging just over 14 per game, added 19 in this one. There was a trio of Lady Dinos Becca Swasey, Elsie Morley, and Emma Bowman each scored five in the loss.

Carbon gets back on the floor on Tuesday, January 7, when they will travel to Castle Dale to face the Emery Lady Spartans at the Spartan Center.
