Change, alongside the smell of olive oil with a light touch of garlic, was in the air on Wednesday, Jan. 29. The occasion? The grand reopening of Juniper Kitchen, which recently transitioned ownership to longtime employees Jeff and Marissa Byrge.
Starting their journey as cooks with the restaurant in 2020, the Byrges slowly worked their way up in the ranks, becoming managers before in 2024 receiving the opportunity to purchase the business.
In a previous conversation with Castle Country Radio, Jeff Byrge described the transition from employee to owner,” It’s been a lot different from what I pictured, I was thinking, you know, we got this, we got this. We take it over, get to the business aspect of it, and there is a lot more than what I pictured, but we’ll get through it.”
A community staple, Jeff Byrge reassured customers that this change in ownership would not impact the iconic pizza, rather they would look to expand the menu with daily specials and a new kids menu. “When you come here, you can expect handcrafted pizza, great burgers, garlic pinwheels and a fun kids menu. We have a bit of everything.”

After these comments, the Byrges cut the ribbon, officially christening the restaurant.
