Our Mom, Grandma, Aunt, and witty friend, Mary C. Howell, passed away on February 23, 2025 in Price, Utah due to complications from pneumonia.

She was born January 4, 1944 in Henderson, Nevada to Lucas Lucero and Euphrasia Abeyta. She married Ronald “Weed” Howell on August 3, 1963 in Sunnyside, Utah.

Together, they had two sons, Richie and Jeff, and were married until he passed away on December 7, 1999.

Known for her sharp tongue, impeccable home decor, and the cleanest house on the block, Mary loved to talk on the phone with her friends, watch YouTube videos that made her laugh until she cried, and cruise around town pointing out many memories of growing up in Dragerton.

Mary is survived by her sons, Richie and Jeff; as well as her beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many special friends who she considered family.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, her soul dog Coco Bear, and many friends throughout the years.

Special thanks to the East Carbon/Sunnyside community members that helped and supported her, especially over the last few years.

At Mary’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, go sweep off your porch in her honor.
