With a heavy, sad, and broken heart we want to share the passing of our husband, best friend, and father to an amazing daughter, Lauryn. Jesse Michael Collins of Price, Utah passed away unexpectedly on February 25, 2025 at the young age of 28 while traveling for work in Colorado.
Jesse was born May 1, 1996 in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the son of Michael and Lisa Wilkinson Collins.
Jesse touched and affected so many around him. He always loved and cared for so many people. Jesse was always the one to go to for a huge meaningful hug and the best conversations. Jesse has and will always be my person, my partner, my best friend. He has made the biggest impact during his short life.
Jesse and Mercedez met at a very young age, 15 years ago. From then on, many memories started to grow as the two grew up together. Later Jesse and Mercedez married July 11, 2015 and welcomed their daughter in May, 2019. From the moment Jesse laid eyes on his beautiful little princess, he knew he had a role to fulfill to provide her with anything and everything she wanted and needed.
Jesse graduated from Carbon High School in 2014. Jesse’s passion for wrestling started at a young age and he continued in the sport through high school. Jesse was always participating and involved with sports from a young age; football, baseball, any sport you can think of, Jesse was involved.
Jesse was a coal miner and worked at nearly every mine in the area. Jesse made many friends that became more of a brotherhood. Jesse loved the opportunity to work with all of them side by side. His coal mining brotherhood is what made mining enjoyable.
Jesse’s favorite past time was planning the next trip. The next person that he talked to was invited on the trip. He wanted everyone to be involved. Jesse had this crazy superpower of making everyone around him feel special.
To know Jesse is to love Jesse. He absolutely loved to torture everyone around him (especially his nephews).
Those who knew him will remember him for his infectious smile and overwhelming laughter. His gift for making others smile and laugh will leave a lasting impact on those who crossed his path. He took great pride in being a father and was proud to see Lauryn excel in everything she does.
Jesse is preceded in death by his niece, Brityn Burrows; and grandmothers, Ramona Wilkinson and Trina Collins.
Jesse is survived by his wife Mercedez; daughter, Lauryn; parents, Michael Collins and Lisa Collins; brother, Bubba Collins (Markie); sister, Melissa Burrows (Kyle); grandfather, Richard Wilkinson; his in-laws, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, Mikey and Jennifer.
