Wednesday afternoon, the Carbon Dino soccer team put their unbeaten record on the line when they welcomed the Delta Rabbits. The Dinos added four in the first and four in the second to take the 8-0 Region 12 win.
Carbon has now outscored its opponents 25-1 in five games. The lone goal came against the Juab Wasps last week, but Carbon has been unstoppable when Cannon Mortenson has been in between the pipes.
The Dinos were on the offensive from the start, scoring four goals in the first half and holding the Rabbits scoreless by halftime.
The second half was all about the Dinos once again. Carbon found the back of the net four more times, and Mortenson’s steady hands in goal made it easy for the Dinos to earn their fifth win this season.
Tyler Morris scored two goals and had three assists for Carbon. Parks Cowdell, Lincoln Atwood, Donavyn Prescott, Logan McEvoy, Drake Chappell, and Luke Brady each scored a goal. Chapell and Case Griffieth added an assist, and Mortenson logged his fourth shutout of the season.
The Dinos travel to Richfield on Friday to face the Wildcats. Last season, Carbon won both games in their two meetings.
Carbon will be back home on March 26 to face Manti.
