Carbon High School boy's basketball coach Taylor Brower was a guest on KOAL's Drive Time Sports, recapping his first season as head coach of the Dinos. Carbon wrapped up the season with a 5-19 record, falling in the opening round to Richfield Wildcats, who advanced to the 3A state championship game.
USU Eastern women's basketball coach Chelsey Warburton joined Drive Time Sports Wednesday afternoon to preview the upcoming season, which gets underway Friday in Ephraim.
Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.
