The Emery Lady Spartans again put together a magical run, advancing to the 3A state championship game. Unable to overcome a powerful second-half performance by the Canyon View Falcons, Emery ended as the runner-up for the second consecutive season. Head coach Jon Faimalo joined Drive Time Sports to discuss the championship game and the highly successful 2024-25 campaign.
Tuesday's Drive Time Sports featured Carbon High School swim coach Allie Chamberlain, who talked about her team winning their third straight State Championship. Plus, on the 25th anniversary of the release of Happy Gilmore, Jordan shares clips of interviews from Bob Barker and Verne Lundquist from previous shows where they talked about their experiences in the cult classic.
Teams of 13-year-olds from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah will descend upon Carbon County in late July for the opportunity to represent the Pacific Southwest Region at the World Series held in New York in mid-August. One local team, the Battle 13U squad, will be coached by Darek Martinez, Rob Smith, Justin Powell, and Timmy Urbanik and represent Carbon County.
Ahead of the upcoming tournament, three members of the Battle team joined KOAL's Drive Time Sports. Rigdon Rhoten, Austin Leonard and Jack Madrid all talked about a recent tournament, this year's team and the upcoming Pacific Southwest Regional.

Plus, former Major League Baseball pitcher Bill Laskey joins for his weekly segment talking all things MLB, including the expanded postseason and bubble for the playoffs.
