It was announced Friday afternoon that Jacie Jensen’s outstanding senior season has been recognized with a 3A All-State Second Team selection.

Voted on by coaches throughout the 3A classification, Jensen was the lone Carbon player to receive an All-State nod. Appearing in all 25 games this season, Jensen averaged 13 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists per game.

Jensen consistently produced offensively for Carbon, scoring double figures 18 times throughout the season. Her highest output came on Jan. 30, when she poured in a game-best 24 points in a 60-54 upset win over the Emery Spartans.

Performing at the highest level in the most significant game situations became normal for Jensen. Entering the state tournament as the No. 14 seed, Carbon nearly pulled off a monumental upset, taking No. 3 South Summit to double-overtime. Despite suffering a 51-50 loss, Jensen left her fingerprints all over the game, finishing with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals.

Jensen leaves Carbon having scored 642 points over a four-year career and averaging 11 points per game during her senior and junior years combined.

Following her performance against Emery, Jensen was named the Eastern Utah Community Credit Union Athlete of the Week. Watch her complete interview HERE.
