DeAnna Pearson Rhodes, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025, in her home, at the age of 76. She was born on February 6, 1949, in Price, Utah, to George W. Pearson and Rae Dell Long Pearson. DeAnna was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived her life with a deep love for her family.
DeAnna had many talents. Being the oldest of 9 siblings, she enjoyed being a part of raising her younger brothers and sisters. She was an accomplished piano player, dancer, and had a beautiful singing voice. She loved playing softball and even coached women’s softball when she was older. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and preserving what she grew in the garden. When she was young, she looked forward to every summer spent at her Grandma Fish’s house in Castle Gate, waiting for her beloved Boyd to show up and whisk her away on horseback for days spent riding in the hills and enjoying each other’s company. After DeAnna and Boyd married, they spent their summers camping and fishing with their children and extended family.
On May 25, 1966, she married her sweetheart, Charles Boyd Rhodes. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Manti Temple on their anniversary in 2016. Together they lived most of their married life in a home they built in Cleveland, UT where their greatest joy came from raising their six children.
DeAnna was a cherished grandmother and great-grandmother who found joy in every hug, smile, and story shared. She will be remembered for her spunky personality and handling everything life brought her with courage. Though she has departed this life, her legacy will continue through those she loved and left behind.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, mother-in-law Evelyn Rhodes, father-in-law Foy N. (Tommy) Rhodes, brother Alan Pearson, brother Duane Pearson, 2 brothers-in-law Jerry Giraud and Bill Riddle, granddaughter Rachel Potter and grandson Joey Penovich.
She is survived by her loving husband, Boyd Rhodes, children Kim Brown of Price, UT, DeDe (Vaughn) Olson of Price, UT, Dustin (Mandy) Rhodes of Elmo, UT, Shannon Heugly of Price, UT, Amber (Luke) Hendrix of Temecula, CA, Davey (Chelsey) Rhodes of Cleveland, UT, 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, siblings Nancy (Bob) Jones, PA, Elsie Riddle, PA, Bill (Peggy) Pearson, CA, Loni Giraud, UT, LaDawn (Harry) Mari, CA, Chrissy (Rod) Hooley, UT, sisters-in-law Barbara Pearson, UT, and JoAnne Pearson, CA.
Funeral service, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, 11:00 am at the Cleveland LDS Ward Chapel. The family will receive friends that morning from 9:30 am -10:30 prior to the service. Burial will be at the Cleveland Town Cemetery under the trusted care of Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of DeAnna online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
