Carbon softball welcomed the Manti Templars to Price. The Lady Dinos were searching for a season split with the Templars, having suffered a loss earlier in the season. Manti collected their runs in three innings and kept Carbon on the ropes throughout the contest, taking a 6-3 win.

Carbon slides to 6-12 overall and sits in the No. 10 spot in the latest RPI, with eight games left in the regular season. On March 21, the Templars earned a 9-0 win over Carbon at home.

Both teams were scoreless after the first inning, and Manti added a run in the top of the second inning and had the lead as the game moved into the bottom of the frame. During Carbon’s at-bat, Shayla Penovich stepped up to the plate with a pair of outs and Kennlee Kennedy on second and sent a line drive single to right field, bringing Kennedy home and tying things up at 1-1.

Manti would push the score to 6-1 after the fourth, and Carbon wouldn’t find any offense until the bottom of the sixth, when Kennedy came up to the plate and during the at-bat, Harli Heugly would steal second, and Lacie Gregerson would score on an error by the shortstop Kennedy would pop out to center. Penovich was the next batter up and sent a ground ball to right field, allowing Heugly to cross the plate to get the Lady Dinos to 6-3. However, the Templars would shut them down to take the win.

Penovich was 2-3 with a pair of RBIs for the Dinos. Kennedy was 2-3 and scored a run, and Alexa Jones was 3-4 in the loss.

Katie Vea started as a pitcher, putting in three innings of work and giving up six earned runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.  Danica Adams came in to close out the contest, giving up one hit and striking out six.
