It is with hollowed hearts we announce Sonny Ray Basso, 47, left this world on April 25, 2025 at his home. Sonny was born in Price, Utah on July 22, 1977, to Angelo Jr (Sonny) and Shelley Basso.

Sonny met the other half of his soul when they were both only one year old and finally married his love of every lifetime, June 1, 2023. Being together brought them amazing happiness that was always missing when they were apart.

Sonny had a mind that would never be quieted, so you could always find him taking something apart and changing just a little something about it, to make it work even better. He never came across anything broken that he could not fix.

He was an accomplished electrician and worked his entire life as a certified electrician, in one field or another, most recently giving his wisdom to the solar field in Wellington.

Sonny worked hard to ensure his two beautiful daughters never wanted for anything growing up and tried his best to raise them to be happy and independent women.

Nothing in this world has been, or will ever be created that could match Sonny’s smile. It could turn darkness into light, tears into laughter, and change your entire world.

He leaves behind his best friend and loving wife, Jaymi Basso; two daughters, Destiny (Daymon) Dodge and Kaylie “Bubba” (Derik) Riley; stepson, Leander Fowles, parents, Angelo Jr. and Shelley Basso; mother-in-law, Ellen Fowles; brother, Jory (Karen Martino) Basso; brothers-in-law, Bryce (Kelli) Fowles and Lance Scovill; nieces, Chari, Skylynn, Kaydance, Paige, Kara and Gwen; nephews, Jaxton and Branden; and his life-long friend Kevin Saccamano.

Waiting to welcome him were his grandpa and grandma Basso; grandpa and grandma Hollar; father-in-law, Stephen Fowles; and sister-in-law, Balynda Scovill.

Sonny leaves a hole in this world too big to ever be filled. He will be missed more than words can say each and every day until we can be with him again.

Funeral service, Friday, May 2, 2025, 2:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery, Price, Utah.
