The Dino boys’ volleyball squad was on the road in Mount Pleasant to take on the North Sanpete Hawks for the final regular-season game. These two teams have battled all season, and in the rubber match, the Hawks defeated the Dinos 3-2.

Carbon closed the regular season with a 14-10 overall record with an 8-6 mark in region play. On Wednesday, the Utah High School Activities Association released the final RPI and the bracket for the State Championships. The Dinos sit at No. 7 and will begin play on Saturday.

North Sanpete jumped out in this one, collecting a win in the first set, 25-18. They would also win in the second set, at 25-19. Carbon would come back in set three to claim the win 25-22, and then evened things up in the fourth with a contested 26-24 victory. In the fifth and final set, the Hawks returned and grabbed the 15-11 win, taking the match 3-2.

Carbon landed in the No. 7 spot and will receive a first-round bye. This means they won’t hit the floor until May 7, when they will face No. 10 Wasatch Academy. On April 8, Carbon hosted the Tigers and earned a 3-0 win. A victory over Wasatch Academy would mean they would face the Salt Lake Academy and Dugway/Rockwell match winner.
