The USU Eastern baseball team has clinched the No. 2 seed in the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) Region 18 Tournament and will host the first-round semifinals at Ernie Gardner Field in Helper, Utah. This marks a significant milestone for the Eagles, who concluded the regular season with an impressive 28-18 overall record and a 14-10 mark in conference play.
USU Eastern’s season was highlighted by strong performances both at home and on the road. The Eagles posted an 8-4 record at Ernie Gardner Field and went 17-13 in away games. Entering the postseason on a four-game winning streak, the team is gaining momentum at a crucial time.
As hosts of the first-round semifinals, USU Eastern will face the College of Southern Idaho in a best-of-three series beginning Thursday, May 3, at 1:00 p.m. Game two will take place Friday at 1:00 p.m., with a decisive third game, if necessary, scheduled for Saturday at 12:00 p.m. The winner will advance to the Region 18 Championship Game, bringing them one step closer to the NJCAA World Series.
