On Wednesday, the Carbon girls’ golf team went to the Lakeside golf course in Bountiful for the State Championships. The Lady Dinos made the cut and will play the second round on Thursday.

After day one, Juan Diego sits atop the leaderboard with a 339, and Region 12’s Richfield sits in second with a 346.  Morgan (356), Juab (379), Grantsville (394), and Judge (394) round out the top five spots. Carbon landed in ninth place on the team leaderboard with 430.

Sabrina Macias of Juan Diego shot a 4-over 75 to lead the pack.

Carley West carded a 22-over 93 to lead the Lady Dinos. Kaylynn Black shot a 28-over 99. Leah Sweeney shot a 107, and Yo’sea Romo shot a 131 to round out Carbon’s scoring four. Kaycee Richardson shot a 138.
