On Sunday, May 18, at approximately 2 p.m., a rainstorm that created slick conditions along US-6 caused a vehicle to lose control, resulting in a multi-vehicle crash and one fatality.
The incident occurred near mile post 259. A gray Tesla driving westbound lost control due to the weather conditions, causing it to careen into the eastbound lanes. While spinning, the car struck a camping trailer being towed by a Ram 1500 truck.
The collision with the trailer caused the Tesla to flip onto its side, where it was struck by an eastbound GMC Yukon.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol,” The driver of the Tesla was killed, the driver of the Yukon sustained minor injuries, and the driver of the Ram 1500 was uninjured.”
The name of the victim has not been released.
